Sarapan pagi best di Bangi 2015

Sarapan Pagi best di Bangi 2015
The best restaurant for breakfast in Bangi 2015

Bangi is now quite a famous town not only in Selangor but also in Malaysia. It's famous because it's situated right in the middle of academic institutions like UKM, UPM, Uniten, and Unikl. For those of you not paying taxes there's also a data center for Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri or LHDN. Bandar Bary Bangi also houses the green company called the Green Tech. Tesla Electric cars and Renault Twingo can also be found there. More recently, Bangi is also known as food heaven. You can find good restaurants in Bangi. The latest restaurant in Bangi is Bakar Bakar restaurant that specializes in steamboat (RM 45 per pax) For those who crave for Ikan patin Masak lemak there's also that restaurant called Restoran Termeloh.
Restoran Warung@Bangi

For breakfast or Sarapan pagi where do we go? There are many places to have breakfast, there's the famous Restoran Roti Canai as Bukit which is next to Shell petrol station on the way out to KL from Bangi. It's actually partly hidden by the high gradient of the earth. You will know that is the place when you can see so many cars parked haphazardly there until it encroaches the main road. But for me, the best place to have breakfast overall in 2015 is Restoran  Warung@bangi. The restaurant is in section 9 of Bangi and it is situated at a T junction where you find the big Masjid Hasannah. The restaurant is also not far from Hospital AzZahrah and the the blue dome of the Syariah Court.

There's really nothing outstanding about the place except for the roti canai (rm 1). The original roti canai was reasonably big and tasty. It was soft, fluffy and very Malay in taste and texture except that it's prepared by a mamak. However, the cook left and is replaced bu another person, a Bangladeshi. The roti now is slightly smaller but more expensive (RM 1,10). Nothing special about the roti except for the gravy-Kuah Kari, The curry gravy is thick and flavorful. It tastes even better with sambal. But I have to warn you that the gravy is thickened by the bucketful of santan (coconut milk) It tastes good but will kill you silently. Continuous consumption of the curry will definitely land you in  IJN  -your specialist heart center.

Nasi Dagang

The restaurant is now also famous for its' Nasi Dagang (RM 6.50) The Nasi Dagang is probably the best as Nasi Dagang in Selangor and as good as the nasi Dagang that you find in the East coast of Malaysia. The Kuah nasi dagang is so tasty complete with the original taste and flavor of the real nasi dagang. You definitely do not have to go to Kelantan to have a nice nasi Dagang The rice is also done beautifully. I think the cook has steamed the rich to perfection with some crunchiness left of the rice. Together with the thick gravy or curry- the rice and tuna blend well and the taste is just heaven. My only gripe about the nasi dagang is the price. RM 6.50 and the portion is not the big. I't's probabably the most expensive nasi dagang in the world.
Image result for nasi lemak bungkus
Nasi lemak
Another attraction of the restaurant is the nasi lemak called nasi lemak sedap (RM1,80) . The nasi lemak is not very tasty but it's packed in daun pisang (banana leaves) and the smell of nasi lemak in daun pisang really makes it really delicious and aromatic. Nothing can really beat that. Other than nasi lemak the restaurant also sells kueh mueh Melayu that is nicely packed (RM 2.50) in plastic packages. They sell kueh apom, cucor kodok  and kueh koci among others.

So for 2015, I recommend the restaurant-Warung @Bangi as the overall winner for the best place to have breakfast in Bangi.

Tempat makan best di Bangi. Minum petang di Bangi-Laksa kedah , mee rebus , nasi lemak and kueh mueh

Best place to eat in Bangi

When you're getting old, you have all sorts of problems. You knees are getting loose, your muscles are tightening up and your neck pain gives you a constant irritation. Another sign of getting old is that your appetite for food goes haywire. Sometimes you yearn for more high-calorie intake. Most of the time you don't want to have a heavy lunch. Instead what you need is some thing simple, delicious and cheap like laksa, mee rebus, nasi lemak or bihun goreng. The portion does not have to be very big.If you stay in Bangi there are numerous places that you can fill in your hunger pang but the restaurants are rather monotonous, predictable and boring. The academic town lacks kampung style stalls or gerais that you see mushrooming in places like in Sungai Petani or Kepala Batas, Pulau Pinang. These gerais sell all sorts of kueh mueh (40 sen each) and light meals like laksa kedah.

Gerai sedap di Bangi section 7 near Giant

You will be surprised that in the cosmopolitan Bangi you can still find some small stalls selling some good finger food. There is one stall that is partly hidden in section 7 of Bandar Baru Bangi. The stall I'm referring to is located not far from Giant hypermarket in section 7 of Bandar Baru Bangi. You can see the stall on your left on the way to the Giant hypermarket . Before you take the last left turn to the hypermarket you will see a stall selling laksa Kedah (RM 4). The stall is located just before another a gerai selling pisang goreng tanduk. That is the specialty of the neighboring stall. Another specialty is that of mee rebus. The laksa tastes very much like the laksa that you have in Kuala Kedah. The kuah or the gravy is quite thick and full of aroma probably because of the high amount of ikan temenung ( a kind of mackerel-type fish)  used and sufficient condiments that come with it. The mee rebus is also very rich but I'm not really into mee rebus. But I can tell you the mee rebus is really nice. The taste is quite sweet and spicy and with a high content of udang kering or the dried shrimps. It's the shrimp that gives the gravy that pungent and at the same time really nice aromatic smell.

Bihun goreng simple di seksysn 7 Bangi

The stall is also famous for its bihun goreng (Rm 1). The bihun goreng does not look appetizing and blackened with dark soya sauce. It does not also have bean sprouts and other vegetables. However, the bihun has become my staple diet for the last few weeks. Instead of rice for my lunch. I would order and consume  bihun Goreng (fried mee noodles).  I really love the fried bihun which is served with some sambal for the added kick for spiciness. You can actually order telor mata ( fried egg at an additional cost). The bihun is a minimalist style dish that will leave your taste bud for more.
Nasi lemak bungkus  Bangi

The stall is also famous for its nasi lemak bungkus (Individually packed rice with sambal). I think the nasi lemak costs around Rm 1.5. There is nothing special about the nasi lemak but you just love it. The sambal is not too overpowering with the belacan  (shrimp paste) flavour but the aroma of the daun pisang (banana leaves) makes it a good dish to eat. A normal sized person would normally have 2 pack of aromatic rice. The nasi lemak comes with a very small slice of an egg together with one or two thin slices of cucumber. Al these condiments mixed nicely to bring a very balanced diet in terms of taste and smell.

Kueh Mueh best di Bangi

The stall also sells kueh mueh Melayu like tepung bungkus, kueh koce, lepat ubi , lepat pisang and some modern twists like all types of cakes and cupcakes. Of all the kuehs sold, the tepung bungkus is just awesome. It's a kind of sweet cake wrapped in banana leaves and steamed until cooked. The saltiness of the tepung or flour mixed with santan and the sweetness of the grated coconut make it a heaven filling for dessert.

Wedding preparations advice for parents / Persedian anak berkahwin: Satu pandangan untuk ibu bapa

Wedding preparations advice for parents / Persedian anak berkahwin: Satu pandangan untuk ibu bapa

This topic is something that I never dreamt of writing or ever  ponder about just a few years ago. I never thought that one day I would be this old  to plan and organize for a kenduri kahwin or wedding reception for my eldest son. But this is  life, it moves like a wheel and we are a a certain point of a cycle. One day you will get old but not necessarily looking old. I got married more than 25 years ago in a simple wedding ceremony in Sungai Petani and it costs me less than RM 10,000  that I managed to get a loan from Central Cooperative Bank or CCB,a famous monery lender then. and it never crossed my mind that there would be a day in which I have to be ready for this big and important occasion and in which I did and  I still remember  the date was 29 August 2015. The place was at  the grand hall Anti Dadah Kebangsaan in Bangi or AADK. That was the day when my son got married to his course-mate . They met in Kuantan but both are from Bangi. The wedding reception was a beautiful one and held at   a reasonably sized hall that has been decorated with beautiful paraphernalia.A lot of  of guests were invited and they converged at the beautiful dewan to witness the beautiful wedding reception. Here,  I would like to share some of the experiences of 'planning' the wedding reception as an inexperienced father or a parent and I truly want to share my own experience planning one.
A wedding at AADK Bangi

1. When preparing for the wedding reception I had the fear  that not many invited guests would come to the wedding. This probably has got do do partly with me who is lacking in social literacy. The problem is that I don't normally go to wedding receptions unless I was forced to because the bride or the groom is related to me. It's not that I'm anti-social but Its 's just that I'm too lazy to attend wedding receptions. For one, I don't have nice and expensive batik shirts. I really cant afford to get a nice one.Yo should know how much a good batik shirt costs nowadays. A good one will set you up at least 350-500 ringgit. That is just one piece and  you cannot be possibly be wearing the same batik shirt to all the wedding receptions because of your photos in  the Facebook . People would notice the same batik shirt that you wear in all the occasions. It happens to me  for wearing the same Baju Melayu for Hari Raya Aidil Fitri and at all the Rayas. All my nieces and nephews noticed that. They have collections of Hari Raya Idul-fitri-photos for all the years. Coming back  to the issue, I can tell you that the invited guests would just come in droves because this is the first wedding reception that you planned. I happened to me . I never expected to see so many guests coming to my son's wedding reception. My advice to parents is that  to cater for few hundred more of guests for the wedding reception if this is  your first child. The guests will just come and you would have to be prepared for them. The best thing is that there would be also guests that you don't invite but coming to the wedding reception.

2. When booking for the hall for the wedding reception please make sure that you ask the owner or the manager of the dewan to give you the list of every item that you need to pay. It happened to me that the manager of the hall I used charged me for the use of the so called extra things that I purportedly used at the AADK hall. He wanted to charged me for the use of the VIP room which is actually free . He kept quiet at the earlier stage of the negotiation but after the wedding asked to be paid in cash for the so called extra items that I supposedly used. He  asked me to pay the extra in cash for using extra chairs and tables when this was never an issue when we were negotiating . The same thing applies to the white screen for the  LCD projector. So my advice to parents is that when booking the hall just ask the person responsible to list down   all the equipment , facilities that you can use and whether they will be be charged. If you have to pay my advice to you is don't pay cash. Just deposit the money straight into the right account and dont deposit into his personal account. The person in charge of the hall might just take the money because all the things are actually part of the package and thus free.

3. One of the most important aspects of a wedding reception is the food. My advice to the would be father of the bride or the groom to choose a caterer that is reputable and has long been in the business. If possible try to get a reasonably  good one. I have been  to a number of wedding receptions and the food food served is just terrible. Sometimes the rice and curry  would have the 'burnt' overcooked smell . The caterer just does not maintain the quality. What he is interested in is making a lot of money and there's no passion whatsoever in dong the business. The caterer that I engaged for the wedding was excellent but I had to pay slightly more but the food was just excellent, Most of my guests commended me for the good food at the wedding reception. If you guys need to know the the caterer that I engaged you may get in touch with me via email or thru my mobile . If possible try to sign a contract with the caterer that would itemize all the dishes and the services that the caterer would have to render,

4. The guest list is something that can be of an important part of the wedding reception too. I believe that a wedding reception is something in which you would enjoy with  the family members, relatives and friends. Because of this I would suggest that If you are inviting guests please  make sure that the whole family is invited. That will make your son's or daughter's wedding reception a happy one. If you just invite a couple or suami isteri then your wedding reception will be very formal and not a truly joyous occasion. At my son's wedding reception I stressed the point that my son's wedding reception is open to the whole family and of course they all came in  big numbers. The guests were very happy to attend the wedding reception. But if money is your main issue then I would suggests that you have have smaller number of guests  and just invite those that who are closest to you.

5. Another piece of advice that I would like to share with you is that the overall plan for the rewedding should be controlled by you or your wife. Never let another soul who is most likely your relative taking charge of the show. Tell you relative or whoever they are that they can do whatever they want but the final decision is for you to make. You will make the final call. The noisy individuals would want to do so many things that are inappropriate and sometime expensive  things that you have to finally pay for it. There is a possibility that they make take advantage of your inaction or silence and do the many things that you are unaware of .They must be told in advanced rather than after the weeding is done. At the end , you might end up with some sour faces staring at you.

Finally , I hope you have a beautiful wedding reception.

The best Satay Kajang in Bangi / Sate Kajang sedap di bangi

Satay Kajang

Satay Kajang
Nowadays, it's so difficult to find really good satay stalls in Bandar Baru Bangi. It's not that you can't find satay stalls or places where they sell satays, there's plenty of them. But to find a really good satay stall is actually an art. Satay Samuri used to be the best satay place in Bandar Baru Bangi and in Kajang for years. But with their untrained and indifference, Indonesian workers with no passion for food, the satays that they serve are usually very dry and slightly burnt. The workers just don't care about quality and it's just non-existence.

Another problem with Satay Samuri is that they will grill the satays beforehand sometimes up to hours beforehand and they place them in an airtight container. As a result, the satay would turn stale and hard. They would just reheat the satay taken from the airtight container for a few seconds but the heat does not really warm the satay thoroughly, as a result, the satay is just not good and unappetizing.

Another thing about Satay Samuri is that they will charge you the 6 % GST. If I were you I would not have Satay Kajang at Samuri sate or any big restaurants  . They do satay business using the industrial scale philosophy. I would go for the small ones in which the person manning the grill is also the owner. These satay sellers really grill their satays to perfection- juicy and tender,

Azura satay Bangi: The best Satay
A few days ago,  I went to a restaurant  Azura at section 3 Bandar Baru Bangi and surprisingly I ordered some Satays and I was so surprised by its quality and taste. The stay was so tender and juicy. The beef satay just melts into my mouth like Kobe beef. It really tastes good albeit slightly sweet. I believe you will enjoy the stay there. All the satays were reasonably tender, juicy and marinated to perfection. So guys if you want to have satay Kajang in Bandar Baru Bangi the best place to have it is at Restaurant Azura in section 3. I would suggest that you come at 7 - 9 pm to have your satay.

I would give   9/10 * for the satay
                       7/10 * for the service
                       7/10 *  for cleanliness

What's wrong with our youngsters today? Anak nakal / Anak Kurang ajar

Image result for naughty children
Fcuk you..

I remember when I was a kid I really had much respect for the elders. I still remember showing my greatest respect  to the stocky not so tall  Pak Shaari ,my immediate neighbor who used to work as a barber trading his business riding an old Raleigh bicycle. Sometimes I used to buy him cheap cigars, always locally made ones, and we spent time talking at length on a wide ranged of topics from politics, religion  to sports. I would normally get a free hair cut from Pak Shaari whenever I needed one . I was  also quite closed to Kak Peah, a makcik and a wife of an influential local UMNO politician but she preferred to be called kakak because  she thought she looked  young and pretty and that she liked me so much that she kept on reminding  me to be her son in law. I have to say that her daughter was not bad looking not dissimilar to a Hindustani actress but somehow nothing workout between me and her daughter although the girl  had shown some interest in me.

I remember helping out Pak Mat a good looking but a bit lanky  laksa seller married to a slander Mak Mah  in our neighborhood.Occasionally, I would help him push his quite heavy laksa cart donned in bright green Kedah colours around Taman Bakar Arang and Rumah Murah areas and shouting my heart  out " Laksa ,  Laksa" while still pushing the creaking cart slowly.I would gladly pushed the cart as hard as I could and asked for nothing in return but Pak Mat would at the end of the day served me a full plate of the delicious  laksa Kedah with shredded pineapples and ulams as the condiments. If the profit was good for the day he would give me a ringgit , which was a lot of money to me  then

Not far from my house I would go to meet and sweet talk  Tok Su, an elderly woman staying alone and probably lonely in a small dilapidated hut by the mangrove or bakau river . I  would spent time with her talking and she really enjoyed it and she would never stopped telling my neighbors around how good I was to old people like her.  As always, whenever I met old people, I would give salam and showed my respect  by kissing their hands. I believe  all my children have some of my good traits. But sad nowadays  some of our  children and youngsters  are  really ill-mannered , selfish and have no regards for  old people.

"Dont try to teach me..."
I still remember when I was enjoying my cuppa in the evening at a famous kopitiam not far from my house at section 9 of Bandar Baru bangi , I was startled when a youngster, probably a lad from a well to do family came to the place where I was seating just grabbed a newspaper on my table and took it  away. I was so shock that I just did not know what to do  or say . I just looked at him in a daze not knowing how to react. But that was not the only incidence.

At another restaurant while enjoying dinner with my family, a youngster, whom I believe from a well off family judging from the way he dressed and the expensive watch he was wearing  just grabbed a chair next to me ( The chair was left vacant while my wife  was looking for some order at the counter). I was too slow to react and the chair was immediately  already grabbed by the youngster who was with his rowdy group of boys and girls shouting and making so much noise. He did not have the courtesy to ask me whether the chair was taken.

In in another incidence when I was at a government hospital  at a pharmacy counter to take my medication, a pretty young fresh Malay graduate, a pharmacist by training, was dispensing medicine to me but she was  was rather 'rude' or I would say not very polite in her approach . Instead of giving  salam and addressing me as pakcik or En (I'm quite a senior high ranking government officer) in which one would typically use to address a person at  a counter . She just said  " You kena ambil ubat ni..." . The choice of word- You when talking in Malay here is very rude when one is communicating to an old man who is like 30 odd years  more senior than her as there is an age gap. She just did not have the courtesy to address me in a  very polite  professional manner by just calling me pakcik or En. The positive notion that I had  of her based on her beauty just shattered and melted in the air.I just said to myself.."If only she was polite I would have introduced her  her to my bachelor doctor son.."

"No warning next time.."
Whats' wrong with our youngsters today? What have we done to them  that have transformed them to become  monsters or young adults with no manners and show no respect to old people. I believe one main reason is the lack of religious upbringing. I strongly believed that these young people have been brought up in an environment that is too liberal, lack of finesse in local culture and probably too westernized in orientation . Their actions or  their manners may be quite normal in their unguided free and liberal domain but in a Malay Islamic culture, it is just utterly inappropriate and totally disgusted.

I believe the lack of manners have nothing to do with the  socio- economic status. I have seen many young boys who were very well mannered and they came from very well to do families. Likewise, I have seen instances of  young adults from the kampung areas who are just beyond description in their behaviors and they are just plainly rude. One thing for sure is that  it has got to do with how we bring up our children rather than how much money we have in the bank.

Another possibility for this ill-mannered kids could be that the parents are too busy working to support their family that  they forgot about their children altogether. The parents , both husband and wife working 24/7 to support the family but inadvertently neglecting their children who have to mend by themselves. The kids actually learned all the so called manners  on their their own  from watching western movies,  friends of the same age and probably just get some pieces of cultural training from their non stop working and very tired Bibiks.

I don't know whether we still have the time to actually undo the bad training or upbringing that our children have been immersed as I believe their current  manners are so deeply entrenched and fossilized. There is no way that we do can undo what has been formed. Sending them for professional  motivational  workshops like the ones run by Dato Fadillah Kamsiah would probably give a relief for a few days and then they will resort to the old ways. The best thing to do is actually get them to realize on their own that what the way they are doing  is wrong and inappropriate. It would be more effective  if  the parents themselves start first by doing the right things . Telling them what's right or wrong but when the parents are still doing the same westernized and liberalized way would just not work. It must begin from the parents and we have to start doing it ourselves the right way before we expect them to change for the better.  We just pray an doa that we are still blessed with beautiful children the ones that are very well mannered, respect the old folks  and  also very intelligent.

What's wrong with the Malaysian police.

My grandfather was an OCPD at Balik Pulau, Pulau Pinang. He was a handsome young man with impeccable dressing, spoke good Queen's English  and a soft spoken charming guy  happily married with four wives all living together in one big bungalow  . He passed away at the age of 75 due to diabetic related illnesses. My father was  also a policeman and recently   got married for the third time  to  a relatively  young woman after the death of my mother and his second wife and he is now 84 years old . He is still  strong physically for that age and still whining to his children about getting a new car . He is, however, retired from the police force  a long time ago with the rank of a Sergeant major or SM as they call it at the age of 55 after serving more than 30 years in the police force. When he was young,  he   was a stern looking man with a very loud clear voice.  To call me, he would just shout out  loud from our  house and his husky voice would vibrate through  our  neighborhood. Upon hearing my name being called,I would  immediately rushed back home as fast as I could  "to receive orders" from my father. Life was so regimented and disciplined then for our family of eight. With a meager salary of around RM 300 ringgit my father supported a family of nine. Life was particularly difficult financially but enjoyable nonetheless. Occasionally,  we often got whacked by our fiercely strict father for the  simplest mistakes.

Police on the take?

To follow the family tradition, my youngest brother also applied to be a policeman many moons ago and was accepted as a rank and file and  attached some where  at a police station in Penang. He was a corporal and married with 3 beautiful  children. Recently, he  was called for an officer's training to be a police inspector . Our lives as children of a policeman centered around the police and PERKEP (Persatuan keluarga Polis- I'm not very sure whether this the meaning of the acronym). We stayed at very small Berek polis (Police housing quarters) where the kitchen and  toilet were separated from the living room and the two bedrooms. Despite the difficulties, the  policemen then were very well respected by  the community. But now all the respect is virtually diminished and  'gone with the wind'. What is  wrong with the police? In this blog,  I would like to share my views of the police which I feel would also reflect the view of the ordinary people of Malaysia regardless of race and religion.

The perception now of the police by the ordinary people is that they are corrupt. I don't know how so called 'corrupt' they are but this is the view  from the street. I have heard or read somewhere that among the government agencies, the police force are the most corrupt. If a few people or the opposition members argue that the police are corrupt , then I would not totally agree at all but if  a lot of ordinary people or the rakyat  keep on talking about it then something is not right here. There might be some truth to the matter. I have to admit that there are a lot of  good policemen around  and I believe my brother, my dad and grand father are some of them. Corruption in the police force, however, seems to be so widespread and systemic that I really hope that we could do something to stop this congenital menace.

Mau selesai ka?

This scourge has been going on for so long. When I was a kid in Sungai Petani, Kedah  I used to see  policemen mainly rank and files making rounds and occasionally made scheduled visits to  Chinese owned sundry shops selling illegal 4 digit numbers. In my housing area in Bandar Baru Bangi,  I have seen some policemen   looking for Indonesian contract workers working on house extensions around some  housing areas. But I don't know whether they were looking for criminals, suspicious men, unregistered illegal workers or looking for some 'little little'  goodies.  I have seen also some police  men stopping at the side of the lorry hidden from the traffic and seemed to be  'negotiating' or doing something that may be unethicallynot right. I believe they should not not be haggling or whatever they were doing hidden from the preying eyes of the public. I have also  heard  how money is  allegedly given in envelopes to police chiefs but  I don't know how far this is true, I am not accusing them of taking bribes but all these stories although unproven but they seem to be so real and revealing.

Hell, the Thai police and immigration officers  are even worst. On the way in to Thailand via Hatyai or Danok ,I would just put in RM 10 ringgit in the passport to help me  pass through the check point speedily and safely. I heard from my brother in law who was a regular visitor to Thailand that  that competing Thai police officers had to put up a tender to have the privilege to work or to be the Chief police at the border . The police in Indonesia too expect "uang pelincir" to solve what ever problems there may be. Malaysia probably is not as daring and open as those in Thailand or Indonesia. But there must be some form of corruption going on.  However, I really hope that corruption is Malaysia is not institutionalized  as those in some countries. We need to put a  stop to this menacing and damaging acts . I truly  believe that it should start from the top.

There is also the perception of the people that the police are not very intelligent group of people in solving problems. This is specially true of those holding higher ranks. I am not referring to their paper qualifications as currently prospective applicants  need to have a degree in order to be a police inspector. The  stupidity is that they tend to have ordinary road blocks especially during the peak hours but nowadays I have seen less of this. This is quite an improvement, Previously I remember that when the traffic was at its peak we would see the police would begin  manning road blocks and some times the roadblock they formed is so discreet  that we don't even know there is one going on and that they would do it in a quiet  area that can sometimes be quite dangerous.

I also notice that some of the policemen are not too passionate about doing their work. They are more interested in fulfilling their  materials needs. I have seen  that some policemen in police squad cars are interested in  looking for taxis ferrying Indonesian contract workers more than the traffic offenders or other suspecting criminals. Sometimes when you go to a a police station to settle accident  matters you will see some Chinese men aka "vultures" loitering around the place station looking for potential customers in repairing a dented car. They do it surreptitiously but you can't never go wrong in terms of guessing what are they trying to achieve at the police station. It seems that there is a so called win-win situation going on there between these two parties. Another thing that I noticed in some cities like KL where some police traffics with high powered bikes  are more interested in escorting dead people using government assets. I'm referring to some policemen giving  escorts to a long procession to send off the dead to their 'homes'. I don't know whether these police outriders are paid for the service but I can tell you that  they are  very committed work of managing the traffic.Their escorting the dead is like escorting the Sultan of Brunei and his  convoys.

Sometimes you wonder why some illegal 4 digit agents ,illegal health centers or illegal massage places   are thriving at some shop-houses in towns even though the police station is not very far away. I got the sense that some of members of the  police are allegedly 'colluding' with the criminal activities. Otherwise, why would these illegal premises would be mushrooming around towns. If you go to certain sections of the  town you will notice some shady businesses are going on behind some dirty  premises with seemingly sexy looking girls loitering around eliciting  customers and sometimes the not so surprising thing is that you would  come across a middle man normally a middle-aged Chinese man  who would go round  noisily looking for the unsuspecting young people to be their customers . And these things are allegedly happening not far far from the police station. At the border, you would find people smuggler using our territory to do illicit businesses or smuggling people with out any actions from the police.  It seems that there's an alleged complicity between the police and the criminals at the border too. I read in the newspaper somewhere that allegedly almost 80 % of those working at the border are on the take. Sad but  the rakyat could see all these things.

IGP: A man to stop the scourge?
There is a strong connection between my family and the police and the relationship which started many decades ago still continues until today. I wish at least one of my children would also become a policeman. But with the negative perception of the police force make me have a second thought about the nexus between us and the police. The IGP would have to do something to clean up the battered image, I believe he is a man full of integrity and can take the challenge head on. He has to get rid of those who are on the take and clean up the mess. I hope the police force can take back the solid image that it used to have.
