What I want nowadays / My bucket list

While writing a blog yesterday, I noticed a WhatsApp message from a good friend of mine, a filthy rich guy whose huge house in an exclusive area costing millions of dollar, pleading that "Hangpa doa kat aku supaya sehat" or " Pl guys pray that I'm in good health". He's 53 going to 54 this year and afflicted by not uncommon age-related slipped disc. He cant walk at the moment because of the acute back pain. The doctor prescribed him 120 mg of Arcoxia, Mecobalamin, and Myonal to relieve the pain. I told to him to see a good orthopedic surgeon and do an MRI but he just flatly refused. He has all the money to get treatment locally and abroad but he would rather take the pain killer and see a sunset. Once we reach a certain age we just cannot run away from getting certain illnesses. It's probably God's way of telling us that we are not immortal and we have to be prepared to die soon. At this age there are things that we want.

For one, I would like to doa that I have good health. You don't want anything else other than having a good healthy body to do all the daily activities that you want to do. Even to pray 5 times a day you need to be physically strong and healthy. Your knees have to be good to do the sujud and the rukuk. You also need to be strong and healthy to perform the obligatory Haj and Umrah. You need to do quite a walk to go to the masjid and perform the daily prayers. All these need you to be strong. Even if you have tonnes of money in the bank it does not guarantee you good health. Look at the Sultan of Johor. he could not do much to help save his son Tunku Jalil despite all the money in the bank and the facilities that he had. The Apple owner and CEO Steve job one of the richest men in the world could not do anything much to prolong his life after discovering that he's afflicted with liver cancer. One person that I admire so much is Dr. Mahathir. At 90 years old he's strong like a lion and will take an aggressive stance against his nemesis. That guy just refused to quit.

I would also like to do that I would live long enough to see the good things in life. I hope to reach at least up to 80 years old and still be healthy. At this modern time, anyone who lives past 60 years old is truly a bonus. With new diseases, cancer, diabetes, and all sort of illnesses modern people do not live that long. Some of my good friends from IOBA have died young. They died even before reaching 50 years old. Most died because of diabetes and some get their legs amputated. Some others died because of heart attack and kidney failures. With a long life, I hope to see my children getting married, I want to see my future grandchildren. I want to see how Malaysia develops into a modern and wealthy country.  I really hope that Allah would give me the longevity to experience all these things.

I also hope to get a place to perform my Haj. I want to fulfill one of the pillars of Islam. I hope to be given the chance to perform Haj before I reach 60. I want to sujud in front of the Kaabah and ask for forgiveness from Allah things that I may have done wrong to my parents and to other people,  I know this is not easy but I really hope I would get the opportunity soon. InsyaAllah.

I plead to Allah that I would have the rezeki and the energy to travel the world. I have been to many places but there are other place that I have yet to visit. I would like to visit countries like Turkey, Morocco, New Zealand, and Argentina before  I close my eyes for good. I would also like to have a family vacation with my children and travel through out the States in an MPV. That would be my grand finale. I would like to show my children and my grandchildren the places that I've studied and the interesting places on the American continent. I want them to experience what I have experienced. I really doa that I would get all these wishes.

PAS the biggest winner in the coming general election / BN will have a Unity Government in GE 14

Image result for PAS
PAS the biggest winner in the next general election
Many years ago Malaysia's political situations were strong and stable but it would always be tainted with quiet race tensions.Although stable, the situation was actually precarious and dangerous because of the perceived ethnic confrontations due to race-based parties fighting for their shrinking shares. But luckily nothing sinister happened then because the country was strong economically and the people refused to be entangled onto senseless nobody wins ethnic strifes.  (But isolated interethnic cases would still happen because there are always lone wolves who are trying to stir people's prejudice to argue and take sides and support their own community and this you can find anywhere in the world including in the States or in the so-called western countries and thus nothing serious).

But the country today is less stable, fluid politically, and economically in shambles but the future is intact, bright and better prospects because the instability now is not between Malay against the Chinese or Malay against the Indian but now it is between the corrupt vs the good. between the good people vs the sinners, The conflict in Malaysia is now less about race and religious conflicts. It's now about promoting good governance, fighting corruption, fighting against mismanagement,  and against the misuse of power. The political scenario in Malaysia in the coming election will witness a quite different landscape that we have not seen before due to these hotly contested issues. I bet that the biggest winner in  Malaysia's coming election will be PAS (The Islamic based party). Below is my take on why PAS will be the biggest winner of the  14 general elections in Malaysia in 2018.

DAP  will only control Pulau Pinang in 2018
1. People in droves will vote for PAS because they are disillusioned with what is happening with the country under Najib.  Most people regardless of ethnicity believed that the country is in a mess. Some of the big issues include education.  Only yesterday the government is cutting back on scholarships given to JPA scholars. This has never happened before even when we were facing the economic crunch in the  90s. And last night politically, there is a possible no vote confidence against Mukriz Mahathir the Menteri Besar of Kedah. The pro-Najib camp is hitting back at Mahathir by trying to oust Mukriz Mahathir via the state representatives and the acting Sultan of Kedah. The fluid and the helpless situations in Malaysia are making ordinary people tired of UMNO ( the check and balance apparatuses have gone kaput under this administration)  and their solution is to wait for the general election and they will vote for PAS as they have no other alternatives. They vote Pas not because they like the party but because they hate the seemingly corrupt UMNO the most.

2. The DAP will be able to win Pulau Pinang in Chinese majority seats but the all Malay seats will go to either PAS or some to PKR because of the split votes. The party will also win the Chinese majority seats in Selangor, Perak, Johor, and Melaka. The Malaysia Chinese until now have stayed with the DAP and their stand is unshakable. To them, MCA or GERAKAN are stooges to UMNO. The DAP, however, will get less popular votes compared to the last general election. In the last general election, quite a number of Malays, in fact, voted for DAP  when there were no Malay candidates. The Malays in the coming election, however, will vote PAS first and UMNO second if PAS does not stand for the election in the constituent. Malay votes will definitely not go to DAP. Only. Only some votes will go to PKR as the people see the party as a  platform for Anwar's fight for freedom.

PKR will lose Selangor in 14 GE
3. The Malays will not vote Amanah because it is clearly seen as a stooge to racist DAP party even though DAP  claims that they are a Malaysian party. They will not vote for Amanah because the President of Amanah lacks Islamic credibility and also seen as a parachute leader whose moral standing is questionable... Amanah will be decimated after the 14th  general election. Amanah can only play a minor role in getting a few votes for DAP and nothing more than that.

UMNO will  form Unity govt with PAS in 2018
4. PKR  without Anwar will definitely lose the Selangor state because of the ouster of PAS from the Opposition pact.  PAS is actually the pillar of the pact but they did not play their cards well because of strategic failures on the part of the party. The pact was hijacked and dictated by the Lims and the DAP. The DAP was seen as strong and powerful because they were supported by PAS and PKR. Without the party (PAS)  the DAP does not carry any more weight.

PAS will be the biggest winner in the next election. Barisan Nasional will be only able to govern the country with the blessing and support from PAS. The scenario of the possibility of having a PAS PM in the next election is not without credibility. But I don't think PAS would be able to run the country well, they need the UMNO/BN who has the experience and talent take the country through the difficult times. Hence, a unity government with BN is the likely scenario.

Cost of living in Bangi 2016 / Bangi bandar mahal?

In Malaysia , if we talk of Malay towns one would be able to give two examples. One is Bandar Baru Bangi and the other is Shah Alam. But Shah Alam is the state capital of Selangor, the most productive and richest state in Malaysia. The Malaysian ruling party (National Coalition or popularly known as BN) has been trying hard in the last two elections to take it back from Pakatan Rakyat but to no avail. The people in Selangor still support the opposition party to run the state and they had been doing a good job especially under Khalid Ibrahim but the mood has swung a bit to Barisan Nasional since the present Menteri Besar Azmin took over the helm. I personally believe that Selangor will be back in the BN fold in the next election provided that PAS (Islamic based party) is not in the opposition group.

The next biggest Malays town is Bandar Baru Bangi which comprises 99 % Muslim population. Although Bangi is inhabited by virtually all Muslim it's actually a very modern town with all the amenities. In this town you will see Malay yuppies driving Ferrari and other expensive cars. If you need to find the largest concentration of big beautiful mosques of masjid  within 5 kilometers this is the place to come. It's full of them and the funny thing is that the masjid is always full to the brim especially for the Friday prayers. One nice thing that Bangians can assure visitors ii that the people are very king regardless of the social economic status young and relatively poor You will also not find terrorists in the area, It's truly  a peaceful town that is developing extremely fast. You can also be assured that the standard of living in Bangi is high compared to other places.

Since it's an elite town things are rather expensive in Bangi. The rental of a double storey house in Bangi in Section 9 and section 4 is around RM 1500. Even the flats cost around RM 800 to rent. The price of a house such as a double storey house in 2016  is around RM 700,000 to 850,000 especially in the D' Chempaka area near the Green Tech building. But in Section 4 of Bangi  it's is around RM650,00 for 22 by 75 double storey house. A plate of simple fried rice goes for RM 6.00 and Mee goreng nothing less than Rm 5.00. A kilo of crabs would cost around RM 28.00 per kilo. Nasi Dagang would be around RM 5.5o for Ikan Aya or Tonggkol (Tuna slices).  There';s no more RM 1.00 nasi lemak except If one go to the up town near Econ save hypermarket. The price of a nasi lemak in bangi is between RM 1.80-200 wih a quarter of an egg. Satay in 2016 such as Sate Willy cost RM .90 a piece. Mee Bandung Muar RM 4.80 per bowl.

Best restaurants Bangi 2016 / Tempat sarapan sedap Bangi 2016 / breakfast sedap di bangi 2016 / Top restaurants for breakfast in Bangi 2016

Today is 18 of January 2016 and falls on Monday. I'm quite free this morning after doing my work and not really in a good mood to do something serious. Looking back, I would have never expected to see Bangi expanding so fast and developing furiously fast- I think it develops faster than the fastest developing town in Malaysia-Sungai Petani. One of the reasons why it's developing fast is because of the buying power of the community in Bangi. I notice that most Bangians are well to do and driving in their expensive cars. But I have to say that they are very kind and humble people unlike those in rich areas like Damansara or Kiara. Bangians never have the air of arrogance unlike some well to do people in other areas established areas. Well, this is just my perception of the people in Bangi. We mix and say hi to each other at restaurants in and around Bangi. The restaurants are the main places that we meet other than the Masjids... There are a number of nice restaurants that we frequently dine and have our breakfast. I would like to share some of the best restaurants in Bangi that have some of the best breakfasts ever.

Warung @ Bangi restaurant

1. One of the best places in Bangi to have breakfast is at Warung @ Bangi. The place is just next to Kopitian Bangi and Masjid Hasannah in section 9 of Bangi. The place is also very near to Paragon Business center or not far from Nuin restaurant. There is nothing special about the restaurant but the ambiance of the place is just a magnet for people to come to have breakfast. The place is airy, reasonably clean and quite efficient in terms of service. In the morning, they serve Nasi lemak (RM 1.80) The portion of the nasi lemak used to be quite reasonable for a big man like me but the amount now served is quite small -according to my standards. The nasi lemak is not excellent but nice to have with the aromatic smell since it's covered partly with Daun pisang. Another attraction of the place is the kueh Melayu served in nice little packages (RM 2.50) They serve kueh Koche, Onde-onde, kueh apom and other types of kueh that I dont really remember the names. The roti canai (RM 1:10)  is also quite nice. My suggestion is for you to ask for  kuah kari ikan from the waiter or just go to the food display and take it yourself ( I do that all the time). Overall -4 *

2. Another place to have nice breakfast in Bangi is at Roti canai atas Bukit.  This place is located on the right of Shell Petrol station on the way out to KL from Bangi. One thing about the place is that it's really difficult to find a parking spot to park your car. The parking space is so limited because of the geographical nature of the place. Once there,  my recommendation is for your to order roti canai with kambing and Nescafe O (RM 8.50) . The roti canai although slightly oily but is very soft and goes well with the delicious Indian style kari kambing. The gravy is not too thick which is nice to dip the roti in the delicious aromatic mutton curry. The service (4*) at the restaurant is nice and quite efficient but I feel the place is a tad expensive (2*)  even for Bangians. The owner of the restaurant is now probably a millionaire judging from the number customers frequenting the.place.  One funny thing about the place is that the owner, a middle-aged women, would make announcements over the PA System at the restaurant to inform customers of the last plates of kari Kambing and nasi lemak sotong. The nasi lemak is not really up to the mark. I would not recommend it. Overall - 4 *

Mee Bandung Shell Bangi 2016

3.The third place in Bangi to have breakfast not far from Shell Petrol Station in section 1 of Bandar Baru  Bangi. I call this restaurant Mee Bandung Shell Restoran  It's also near Sekolah Agama and the smart and not so clean free toilet in Bangi. I don't remember the name of the restaurant but the place is probably the best place to have Mee Bandung Muar (RM 4.8). the Mee Bandung is heavenly delicious with its' quite thick gravy and basted with slices of meat and thicken with ground peanuts. The gravy is more on the sweet side but definitely made thicker with the aromatic taste of udang kering or dried shrimp paste which makes it a really awesome mee bandung probably the tastiest in  Selangor. Another attraction of the place is the flaky roti canai. The person who prepares the roti does not use too much oil which is quite good but this slightly affects the texture and the taste of the roti. The gravy - Kuah dhal,  is served with the roti is very thick and my son loves the gravy so much. Since I have gout,  I refrain from consuming the gravy but opted for the sambal pedas with ikan bilis ( anchovies). The sambal is truly delicious. Previously the cook used cili padi ( bird's eye chilies) to make the sambal but now he opted for chili Boh (Chilly paste) which is really disappointing because its taste has gone south. The service at the stall is quite slow and the owner, a middle-aged man, would just sit at the counter to count the day's collections- To me, he's really a lazy arrogant guy who's satisfied with what he has achieved so far. I have to warn you that the owner would close his stall at his own sweet time and days. Overall 3.5 *

The next place to have a nice breakfast is at a restaurant at the back of the Mee Bandung Shell restaurant. The restaurant is quite nice. The attraction of the restaurant is definite the roti canai or the flatbread. Some people in India call it Roti Prata. The roti is more of the Kelantanese type. The size of the roti is small but delicious. I would like you to order Roti Telor Bawang and make sure that the roti is slightly garing. That place is probably the best place to have Roti telor Bawang. Also please do not forget to have Kari daging (RM 4.00)  with the roti. The kari daging although not extremely delicious is quite good since the daging used is the cincang type meaning full of fat goodness, I would like to warn that people with a possible heart attack to abstain from taking the daging cincang. The fatty part of the meat is what makes the curry delicious. Overall 3.5 *

So, guys, those are the place. Please don't forget to provide some feedback if you agree with me.
